Schuylkill Trail - UltraTrax
UltraTrax at the Schuylkill Center in Philadelphia is a one-day endurance walking event on September 26, 2026. Participants choose from several loop-based distances and have a 10 hour window to complete their chosen distance to earn event patches or medals. The event welcomes walkers, hikers, and ruckers and offers the option to carry added weight in a vest or ruck.
Distances available:
- 7 miles
- 14 miles
- 21 miles
- 28 miles
The course centers on a 7 mile loop that repeats for longer distances. Trails run through dense hardwood forest, open meadows, ponds, and ridgeline sections, with varied terrain that includes singletrack, steady climbs, and technical rocky sections. Each loop has about 869 feet of elevation gain. The Schuylkill Center is a 365 acre natural preserve founded in 1965, located minutes from the city.
Event services include professional timing, well-marked trails, staffed aid stations, and on-course photography. Registrants receive a trail pack with items such as a commemorative patch and a finisher shirt; the Grey Wolf Medal is awarded for completing three or four loops. Volunteers support course operations and there is a volunteer option that includes complimentary registration and exclusive merchandise. A portion of registration fees supports the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
