Beast of the Blacks 10, 20 & 40 Mile Ultra
The Beast of the Blacks is an ultra trail event on 6 March 2027 with headquarters in Crickhowell in the Black Mountains, Powys. The event offers three waymarked distances and provides GPX files for navigation. The event is canicross friendly and has a village location.

Entries open 19 March 2026 and close 28 February 2027. Minimum age on the event date is 17. Entry fees listed by the organiser are: 10 miles £45 rising to £48 from 30/07/2026; 20 miles £55 rising to £60; 40 miles £75 rising to £80.
On site facilities include refreshments, toilets, parking (fee £5), a full medical team, a barista, a sportswear shop, pizza and three refuel zones offering staff support, food and first aid. The event provides bespoke medals, handcrafted trophies for top finishers, age category prizes, dog trophies and dog medals. Online results and a full picture gallery are available after the event.
Mandatory kit is required and will be checked at registration. Required items include a waterproof jacket or trousers, race vest, base layer, means to carry at least 0.5 litres of fluid, food, map or downloaded GPX file, telephone, hat and gloves, appropriate footwear for trails, first aid kit, foil blanket, head torch, whistle, mask and hand sanitiser.
