Event Overview
Ultra X England is a trail running event held in the Peak District National Park. The course traverses ridgelines, moorland trails, and limestone valleys through the English countryside. The event welcomes both runners and walkers and is held over two days in September.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 110 km: A single stage race.
- 110 km in two days: A multi-stage race.
- 60 km: A single stage race.
- 50 km: A single stage race.
- 25 km: A single stage race.
- 12 km: Known as The Dash.
Technical Details
The event has a difficulty rating of 3/6 and a technicality rating of 3/5. Expected temperatures range between 8-18°C. The races are recognized as UTMB Index Races in the 100k, 50k, and 25k categories. The 110 km, 60 km, and 50 km races also count toward the Great British Slam award for those completing all three GB Ultra X events within a calendar year.
Logistics and Support
The event is based in Edale. A camping spot at Newfold Farm is included for participants in the 110 km multi-stage race, while others may purchase a camping pass separately. Medical support and therapists, including osteopaths and physiotherapists, are available on the course and at the campsite.
Checkpoints provide drinking water and snacks, and hot water is available at the campsite for food preparation. The event uses a cutoff policy allowing for 2.5 hours per 10 km. GPS trackers are provided for participants, and following the race, finishers receive a medal. Under 23s are eligible to participate for free across all distances.
