Event details

The Eyam Fell Race takes place in the village of Eyam on Tuesday 1 September 2026. The main event starts and finishes at Eyam Sports Pavilion, Hawkhill Road, S32 5QP. Entries are open from 26 August 2025 and close on 28 August 2026. Entry fee for the main race is £8.00. Numbers are strictly limited. The event is organised by the Eyam Half Marathon group and includes marshals along the route, event prizes supplied by the Barrel Inn at Bretton, plus a barbecue and bar in the courtyard after the race.

Race information

The fell course begins in Eyam, climbs to Sir William Hill, passes the Barrel Inn and heads toward Abney Moor. The route includes a steep descent through Abney Moor, a tight switchback, an ascent over heather back toward Sir William Hill, and a steep wooded descent returning into Eyam. The route is waymarked and marshalled.

The main race is for ages 17 and older on the day; anyone under 18 should have prior fell running experience over similar distances. For the junior race the route includes a steep ascent with steps, a level section and a steep descent, so shoes with good grip are advised.
