Eyam Fell Race
The Eyam Fell Race is a 10k fell running event. It starts and finishes in the historic village of Eyam. The route begins with a tough climb out of Eyam up to Sir William Hill, passes the Barrel Inn at Bretton, and continues towards Abney Moor. From there, it turns right for a descent through Abney Moor, around a switchback, and climbs again through heather towards Sir William Hill. The final section goes down through a steep wooded area before returning to Eyam.
A separate junior race is also held on the same day. This race covers 3km and is for ages 11 to 16. It involves a steep ascent with steps, a level section, and a steep descent. Registration for the junior race is on the day only, with a fee of £2.
Post-race, a BBQ and bar with real ale are available. Prizes are provided by the event's sponsor, The Barrel Inn. Entry for the main race is limited, and pre-registration is required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
