Denby Dash 2026

Denby Dash is the 10th anniversary edition of a village trail race organised by Denby Village Conservation Group in Upper Denby, Huddersfield. The senior race is 5.6 Miles (9 km) on an undulating trail route that uses footpaths through fields, woodland, conservation land and the historic Quaker Village at High Flatts. The course has a total ascent of 700 ft, is well marked and marshalled, and comprises a single lap.

The event is open to runners aged 16 years and over and has an entry limit of 175. The entry fee for the senior race is £10. Entries are non refundable and transfers are accepted up to 29 August 2026. The race is not suitable for wheelchairs.

All finishers receive homemade flapjack. Prizes are awarded across age categories and for best fancy dress, and trophies are given to the first local woman and man. Junior races are held separately with a distinct entry process.

Race headquarters and post race activities are at The George Inn, Upper Denby, Huddersfield, with live music and refreshment stalls. Facilities include water and toilets at the event; there are no distance markers, changing facilities, showers or baggage storage. Free parking is provided at Pinfold depot, a short walk from the headquarters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
