Ultra Tour of Arran
The Ultra Tour of Arran is a two day, off road ultramarathon on the Isle of Arran covering 60 miles (97 km). The route combines coastal paths, boardwalks, forest tracks, glens and mountain passes, and includes a named bog section known as the Bog of Doom and the ascent of Goatfell, the island's highest peak.
The event is staged from an Event Village at Ormidale Park in Brodick with the daily start beside Fisherman’s Walk. The course is fully waymarked with orange arrows and blue flags and supported by staff at key locations, removing the need to follow a GPX file. There are multiple staffed Pit Stops across the two days to provide water, snacks, toilets and medical cover, plus a sweeper service to transport participants who withdraw.
Medical provision is delivered by a professional event medic service and includes paramedics, doctors and a private ambulance. Cut off points are used at Pit Stops and on the mountain route; missing the final mountain cut off will result in an alternative descent route back to Brodick.
Participants must collect a tracker and bring their running backpack for fitting at Registration on the day before the event. Entrants must be over 18 on the day of Registration. A finisher medal and an event rag are provided and an optional event t shirt can be collected at Registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
