Event overview
Ayrshire Coast Sunset Ultra is an ultramarathon held on 05 June to 06 June 2026, starting and finishing at Irvine Beach on the Ayrshire coast. The event is a 50 km race run as a 25 km out-and-back course. The route uses beaches, promenades and trails and will be clearly marked; a GPX file is sent in the race pack for navigation. Aid stations are located at 12 km, 25 km and 37 km, and a drop bag option is available for collection at the 25 km point. The event has a total of 200 places and is listed as open.
Race logistics
On-site registration takes place at Irvine Beach car park and race numbers and stickers for drop bags are issued there. Gender-neutral toilet facilities are available. All road crossings are marshalled and runners are asked to remove earphones and follow marshal instructions. Aid stations provide water, sweets, cake and crisps. Family meeting points are permitted at various places on the route, with a request for responsible parking and low noise in residential areas. Post-race provisions include unique finisher medals, goody bags, prizes, a Polaroid photo with medal, toilets, tea, coffee and food (charitable donation). Financial support for lower incomes is offered via the organiser’s website runllama.co.uk. The entry price until 01 June 2026 is listed as £52.
