Ayrshire Coast Sunset Ultra
The event takes place on 05 June 2026 to 06 June 2026 along the Ayrshire Coast, with a start and finish at Irvine Beach. The route uses beaches, promenades and trails and is described as running from sunset to sunrise.
The main distance is 50 km run as a 25 km out and back course from Irvine Beach. Aid stations are located at 12 km, 25 km and 37 km, with water, sweets, cake and crisps available at each. A drop bag option is available for collection at 25 km. An optional race t-shirt is offered for an additional £20.
Pre-race arrangements include registration at Irvine Beach car park, the issue of race numbers and stickers for optional drop bags, gender neutral toilet facilities and tea and coffee available for charitable donation. A race briefing will be held on the start line prior to the race, followed by a group warm up.
During the event the route will, where possible, follow the beach and will be clearly marked. A GPX file will be included in the race pack. Road crossings are marshalled and participants are asked to remove earphones and follow marshal instructions. Family meeting points along the route are encouraged with requests for responsible parking and low noise in residential areas.
Post-race provisions include unique medals, goody bags and category prizes, plus a Polaroid photo with the medal for every finisher. Full race packs will be emailed with required kit, maps and parking advice. Financial support is offered for those on lower incomes. The event capacity is 150 places.
