Ayrshire Coast Sunset Ultra
The event is a coastal ultramarathon held on 05 June 2026 to 06 June 2026, with start and finish at Irvine Beach. The course runs along beaches, promenades and trails and is described as following the beach where possible. The route is clearly marked and a GPX file will be provided in the race pack for those who wish to use a watch for navigation.
The distance is 50 km arranged as a 25 km out and back round. Aid stations are located at 12 km, 25 km and 37 km and will provide water, sweets, cake and crisps. A drop bag option is available for collection at the 25 km point. Numbers and sticker labels for optional drop bags are issued at pre-race registration, which takes place at Irvine Beach car park. Gender neutral toilet facilities are available before the race. Tea and coffee are provided on a charitable donation basis.
During the race all road crossings are marshalled and participants are asked to remove earphones and follow marshal instructions. Family meeting points exist along the route; supporters are asked to park responsibly and to keep noise low in residential areas.
Post-race provisions include unique finisher medals, goody bags, prizes for standard categories and a Polaroid photo with the medal for every finisher. Full race packs with required kit, course maps and parking advice will be emailed closer to the event. Financial support for lower incomes is offered through the event organisers via the Run Llama website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
