Event overview
The Ayrshire Coast Sunset Ultra is a night ultramarathon held along the Ayrshire Coast on 05 Jun 2026 - 06 Jun 2026. The race covers 50 km (a 25 km out-and-back) and starts and finishes at Irvine Beach. The route uses beaches, promenades and trails and is described as running from sunset into sunrise.
Course and support
The route will be clearly marked and a GPX file will be provided in the race pack for those who wish to use a watch for navigation. All road crossings will be marshalled and competitors are asked to follow marshal instructions and remove earphones where required. Aid stations are located at 12 km, 25 km and 37 km and will offer water, sweets, cake and crisps. A drop-bag option is available for collection at 25 km.

The event is organised by Llama fitness group and has a total of 200 places. Status is listed as open. Entry price until 01 Jun 2026 is £52.00. Gender-neutral toilet facilities are available, and post-race provisions include toilets, hot drinks and food (charitable donation).
