Ultimate OCR 3K Championship
The Ultimate OCR 3K Championship is an indoor obstacle course race organized by the Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association. The course covers a full 3 km divided into roughly 300 meter segments and includes more than 25 obstacles placed between the running segments. The event has been presented at Dallas Market Hall and is described as taking place in the New Holland Arena for spectator viewing.
The event uses a three band system. Each athlete receives three wrist bands to wear during the race. Obstacles are categorized as mandatory completion or single attempt. Mandatory completion obstacles may be retried; failure to complete a mandatory obstacle results in forfeiture of any remaining bands and ineligibility for awards, though the athlete may finish. Single attempt obstacles allow only one try; failure results in the loss of one band and continuation without retries.
Finish line procedures require athletes who have lost bands to complete penalty loops placed after the final obstacle and before the finish line. Athletes who have lost all three bands are considered non-complete and are ineligible for awards. Officials are stationed at obstacles to observe attempts and remove bands as required. Chip timing is used for Elite and age group classes.
Competition classes include Elite, age group divisions, youth divisions, and an Open class. Top three in each age category and Elite receive a large 5 inch medal; all finishers receive a medal and a shirt. The Elite prize purse is listed at $4,000.
