The Last Mile
The Last Mile is a five mile road race organized by Perry County Road Runners and held in Duncannon, Pennsylvania in late December. The course begins at the Duncannon Fire Hall at Cumberland and High Street, runs through the hillside outside town, and finishes by the Fire Hall. Packets are assembled on the Thursday or Friday before the race, so there is no advanced packet pickup. Race day registration is available at the registration table and accepts cash or check only; the table opens around 8:30.
Registration fees are listed as follows: pre registration is $25 without a long sleeve shirt or $40 with a shirt while supplies last. Late registration is $30 without a shirt or $45 with a shirt. Perry County cross country and track runners pay $15 without a shirt. Active military registration is free or $15 with a shirt. All proceeds support the Duncannon Fire Company and provide scholarship checks to one male and one female runner at each Perry County school as selected by coaches. Organizers assemble race packets shortly before the event and welcome volunteers to assist with packet assembly or race day duties. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
