Event overview
Uforea takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Troy, North Carolina, using trails in the Uwharrie National Forest and Dutchman's Creek Trail systems. The event is organized by the UwharrieUltras team and is authorized under a Special Use Permit. Race options include a daytime 50K, a nighttime 50K, and the Ultimate Uforea 100K, which combines both 50K races. Registration closes April 11, 2026.
Course format, entries and policies
Both the daytime and nighttime 50K run the same two-loop course: a large 20.5 mile loop followed by a lower 11.4 mile loop for an approximate 32-mile course. The daytime race runs in a clockwise direction and the nighttime race in a counter-clockwise direction. Cutoff times are 11 hours for the daytime 50K and 12 hours for the nighttime 50K. The Ultimate Uforea 100K is scored by the lowest combined times from the two 50K events. Entry limits are 100 for the Ultimate event and 50 each for the daytime-only and nighttime-only fields. Overall awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each race category. The refund policy offers 50% refunds until January 1 of the race year, no full refunds or bib transfers, single deferments only, and 100% credit in select life circumstances.
