Event details
The Tywardreath Trotter is an annual running event held in Tywardreath, Cornwall, as part of the village summer fete. It takes place on a Saturday evening each year between 24th and 30th July; the 2026 edition is scheduled for Saturday 25 July 2026. The event is part of the Cornwall Multi-Terrain Race Series and is organised by the Tywardreath Village Fete Committee with assistance from St Austell Running Club. The race venue is the New Inn, Tywardreath, PL24 2QP. Since 2006 the event has raised over £50,000 for local charities.
Course and entries
Distances:
- 7 miles - multi-terrain race, competitors must be 16 or older
- 1 mile - fun run, open to all ages
The 7-mile course is roughly 50% off-road and runs on a mix of footpaths, bridleways, green lanes and quiet country lanes. The route includes an initial lap around the village before heading into the local countryside and features hilly sections with some ups and downs. The race starts and finishes at the local pub in the village centre and is supported by marshals and local residents. Entry fees listed for the 2026 event include UKA member and non-member rates.
