Two Rivers 200/100
The Two Rivers 200/100 takes place Friday January 23 to Sunday January 25, 2026 in Fairbanks, AK (23 Mile Chena Hot Springs Rd, 99712). The event includes two dog-team race classes:
- 100 Mile - Dog team race, 6-12 dogs
- 200 Mile - Dog team race, 8-12 dogs
The 100 Mile entry is listed at $150 and is open to ages 15-99; a limited number of spots remain. The 200 Mile entry is listed at $250 and is currently full; a waiting list is available. Registration closes January 11, 2026.
Race format and requirements
Mandatory gear checks occur at the race start and at arrival to each checkpoint. Required gear includes a sled with a standard brake, a 3-gallon cooker and cooking gear with fuel, food for musher and team, a cold weather sleeping bag, eight booties per dog, a hand ax (minimum 22 inches), snowshoes (minimum 252 square inches), a headlamp, a suitable mainline, and a snow hook. 200 Mile teams are also given a vet book. Missing mandatory gear must be replaced before signing in at a checkpoint; failure to replace gear within one hour may result in disqualification.
All dogs must have current vaccinations for Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, +/- Parainfluenza, and Bordetella, and must be vaccinated against Rabies. Proof of vaccines is required at bib draw check in. Race veterinarians will check dogs before the start and at checkpoints; dogs or teams judged unfit may be withdrawn or disqualified. Mandatory rest layovers: 100 Mile teams have a 4-hour layover at the first checkpoint; 200 Mile teams must take at least 12 hours total rest with specific checkpoint requirements.
