About the race
Twin Lakes 20 is a 10 mile and 20 mile race held in Milton Keynes. It is designed as preparation for spring half marathons and marathons, offering a set distance instead of a solo training run.
The course is described as fast and flat and is traffic free. It follows a multi-terrain route with about 80% on cycle paths, sections on gravel paths, and the remainder on the canal towpath.
Runners pass two lakes and follow the River Ouzel and the Grand Union Canal, so much of the route is close to water. The surroundings include countryside areas around Milton Keynes.
Participants can enter the 20 mile distance and choose to run only 10 miles on race day while still receiving a race tee and medal.
The event is organised by Dirt Running, which states it has 15 years of running event experience. The organisers describe the event as friendly and encourage support for Willen Hospice through fundraising.
Spectators and crowds are mentioned as part of the atmosphere in Milton Keynes. The event uses race rules and a privacy policy published by the organisers, and has a number of partners and sponsors shown on its materials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
