Event Overview
The Turtle Derby 5k Trail Race is a themed trail running event. It takes place at Hopkins Farm Brewery in Havre De Grace, Maryland, on a Saturday in April. The primary purpose is to raise funds for the local wildlife conservation efforts of the Susquehannock Wildlife Society and to raise awareness about turtle population declines.

Schedule and Activities
Packet pickup is available on the Friday evening before the race at the Susquehannock Wildlife Conservation Center in Darlington, or on race morning at the brewery. After the race, there is a scheduled "after party" at the brewery featuring live music and entertainment. Beer is available for purchase. An award ceremony is part of the after-party schedule.
Participant Perks and Awards
Every participant receives a wooden race medal. A race t-shirt can be added for an extra fee. Awards are given to the top three males and females in several age groups. Special prizes are awarded for turtle costumes in categories like most realistic, most original, best overall, best group, and best family costume.
