About the race
Sparta Education Foundation’s 20th Annual Turkey Trot, presented by Krogh’s, is a community fundraising event held in Sparta, New Jersey. Registration opens September 1, 2026. The start line is in front of Krogh’s Restaurant and Brew Pub at 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta.
The event includes:
- 1 mile fun run with a t-shirt and medal at completion.
- 5K run with bib and t-shirt while supplies last.
Bib pick-up and on-site registration take place in the main ballroom of the Lake Mohawk Country Club, with an evening option the day before and a morning option on race day. A Pasta Party is scheduled at the Lake Mohawk Country Club main ballroom; registered participants are included and guests have a separate fee.
Results will be recorded by chip time rather than gun time. The event will not provide goody bags for this edition, and adult shirts for the 20th anniversary are long-sleeved while supplies last.
The course is out-and-back. Walkers and participants with dogs or strollers are asked to stay to the right and to start at the end of the pack. All participants must be registered and wear a bib; unregistered participation is not permitted. Parking is available at the Lake Mohawk Country Club lot and at Mohawk Avenue School, 18 Mohawk Avenue. Proceeds support Sparta Public Schools.
