Turkey Trot of Morgan County : Downtown Decatur, AL
The Turkey Trot of Morgan County is a community running event held in Downtown Decatur on November 26, 2026. The event includes a 5K run, a 1-mile fun run/walk, and a T-shirt-only option for those purchasing an extra shirt without racing. Proceeds benefit the United Way of Morgan County.
Registration for the 5K and the 1-mile opens on August 3, 2026, and registration for the T-shirt-only option opens on September 9, 2026. All registration closes on November 3, 2026. Published entry fees list $30 for the 5K, $25 for the 1-mile, and $20 for the T-shirt-only option.
Packet pickup is offered on November 25 at Cross Eyed Owl Brewery and on November 26 at First Baptist Church. Pre-registered runners should use the pre-registered pickup table and provide their name to receive a shirt, swag bag, race bib, and pens. Picking up for multiple people is allowed but each racer and bib must be processed individually. Same-day or new registrations are handled at a separate table where registrants complete a sign-up sheet, sign a waiver, and pay. New registrants receive a bib and, while supplies last, a swag bag and t-shirt distributed on a first come, first served basis. Runners must verify bib numbers at the River City Runners table before the event.
Parking and restrooms are available near Old State Bank and First Baptist Church. Awards are handed out after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
