Event Overview
The Turkey Trot is a 5K fun run and walk held in Bellingham. The event is organized by the Greater Bellingham Running Club and takes place at Squalicum Creek Park. All net proceeds from the race are donated to the Bellingham Food Bank. Participants must complete the course within a 90 minute time limit.
Participation Details
The event is open to runners and walkers of various ages. Strollers and children are permitted on the course when accompanied by an adult. The event also allows well-behaved dogs, provided they are kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Owners are responsible for the disposal of dog waste. Registration must be completed in advance as there is no registration available on the day of the event. Entry is free for club members and children aged 12 and under.
Course Information
The course is located at 1001 Squalicum Way and includes sections on the road as well as two road crossings. As an open course, participants may be stopped by monitors to allow for vehicle traffic. The race uses chip timing provided by Pacific Multisports, and runners are required to wear their bibs on their front so they remain visible at all times.
Awards
Prizes are awarded to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers. In addition to performance-based awards, random prize drawings are held during the event.
