Turkey Trot 5K for WTPS Unified Sports Program
The Wayne Special Parents Association hosts an annual Turkey Trot 5K to support and raise awareness for the Wayne Township Public Schools Unified Sports Program. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the WTPS Unified Sports Program.
The course begins and ends on the Wayne Hills track, located at the rear of Wayne Hills High School, and travels through an adjacent neighborhood. The distance for the main event is 3.1 miles. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine.
Registration opens 2026-09-11 and closes 2026-11-14. The standard registration fee is $25. Early registration offers special pricing.
The event highlights the Unified Sports model promoted by Special Olympics, which brings students with and without intellectual disabilities together as teammates. Students involved in Unified are participants on the team rather than volunteers; they join to play, build friendships, and take leadership roles that contribute to their school community.
