Army v Navy 5k
The event is a 5k held at the National Museum of the United States Army in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Points from the race count toward the Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack Series and also count toward the Fall Series. Participants may register to represent either the United States Army or the United States Navy. A virtual race option is available.
The course starts in the museum's farthest parking lot and uses the paved multi-purpose path for an out-and-back route to the intersection of Route 1 and the Fairfax County Parkway. One water station is provided along the course at about mile 1.55. Portajohns are located near the start and finish area. Packet pickup is available at the event. Race day registration is offered; t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before November 24.
Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical drifit event shirt, and chip timing. Live race results are posted on Athlinks and a QR code will allow immediate result access at the event; final results with series points are posted to the organizer's website the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in standard age divisions; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. The event welcomes walkers and strollers and is organized to proceed in most weather conditions, with officials able to delay or cancel if necessary.
