About the race
The event is a 5k held on December 12 at the National Museum of the United States Army, 1775 Liberty Dr., Fort Belvoir, VA. Points earned at this event count toward the Year-Long 5k & Back of the Pack Series and toward the Fall Series.
Participants may register to represent either the United States Army or the United States Navy. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Walkers and strollers are permitted on the course.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical dri-fit event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before November 24; additional shirts will be available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. Standard registration for the 5k is $30 until November 15 and $35 after that date. Race morning registration prices increase by $5.
The course starts in the museum’s farthest parking lot and follows the paved multi-purpose path to the intersection of Route 1 and the Fairfax County Parkway as an out-and-back route. One water station is located at about mile 1.55. Portable restrooms are available near the start and finish. Packet pickup is available at the event and organizers offer SMS runner tracking and live results via Athlinks. Final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
