About the race
The Holiday Run Fest in Annandale returns for its 12th year on December 12 and 13, 2026, using Wakefield Park and Lake Accotink Park as primary locations. The event includes a Half Marathon and a 4 Miler, with the 4 Miler new this year starting and ending at Lake Accotink Park. The half marathon course runs on the Annandale trail network near and around Lake Accotink and uses a mix of paved trails, gravel, and dirt surfaces. The half marathon route follows the CCT toward Americana Park, includes a small neighborhood loop, then proceeds clockwise around Lake Accotink to the parking lots.
Runners pass through the parking area to reach the trail toward Byron Park, follow a short dog leg under Old Keene Mill Road, complete the Byron Park loop, and return toward Lake Accotink. The finish approach runs counter clockwise around the lake, retracing the outward route. There are four water stops along the course; most stops can be used twice and the final water stop is located at roughly mile 11.
