Course and logistics
The half marathon course uses the Annandale trail network and areas around Lake Accotink. The route runs on primarily paved trails with some gravel and dirt sections. The course follows the Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail (CCT) toward Americana Park, loops through neighborhood streets, runs clockwise around Lake Accotink through the parking lots, proceeds toward Byron Park with a short dog leg under Old Keene Mill Road, and returns counterclockwise around the lake toward the finish. There are four water stops, with the opportunity to stop twice at most of them; the final water stop is roughly at mile 11.
Live races are electronically timed using the ChronoTrack B disposable tag system and results are posted after the race. Pre-registered participants receive a full-zip hoodie, a race bib, a finisher medal, free race-day photos, photo overlays, and a digital finisher certificate. Awards for live events include top three overall male and female finishers and five-year age-group awards from 14 and under through 80 and over; awards take place after the race. There is a 2 hour 45 minute time limit for the half marathon. Strollers and dogs are not permitted on the race course. Packet pickup details are provided by the organizer.
