Turkey Strut 5K
The Turkey Strut is a community 5K event held in Nicholasville at City County Park, 333 Fairground Way. It features a gun timed 5K on paved roadway surfaces that runs through City County Park and the By-Pass. There is a separate wheelchair division for the same distance.
Registration details vary by entry:
- 5K Run/Walk registration opens April 6, 2026 and closes October 25, 2026; fee $25.00.
- 5K Wheelchair Division registration opens April 13, 2026 and closes October 25, 2026; fee $25.00.
- Volunteer registration opens April 20, 2026 and closes November 21, 2026; no fee.
Race features include a commemorative long sleeve t-shirt, in-person and virtual options, a water station at the mid-point and at the finish, and refreshments such as fruit, bottled water, and granola bars. Awards are given to the Overall Top 3 men and women and to top men and women across multiple age categories. Dogs on leashes and walkers are welcomed. Free race photos will be available, and timing is provided by RaceRise.
Proceeds and donations benefit the Jessamine County Food Pantry. The event will include a non-perishable food drive in conjunction with the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
