Turkey Strut 5K
The Turkey Strut 5K is an annual race held in November 2025 in Nicholasville, KY at City County Park (333 Fairground Way, Nicholasville, KY 40356). The event is identified as the 41st annual edition and takes place during Thanksgiving week. Event types listed are a 5K Run/Walk, a 5K Wheelchair Division, and a Race Volunteer option. Registration fees for the 5K events are $30; the volunteer option is free. Registration prices increase after November 9, 2025 at 7:30 am EST.
Course, features and logistics
The course is paved and runs through City County Park and the By-Pass. The race offers both in-person and virtual participation options. Race features include a commemorative long sleeve race shirt, water stations at the mid-point and the finish line, and available refreshments such as fruit, bottled water, and granola bars. Awards are given to the Overall Top 3 M/F and the Top 3 M/F in 5-year age groups. Free race photos are provided, and timing is by RaceRise. Proceeds and donations benefit the Jessamine County Food Pantry, and a non-perishable food drive will be held in conjunction with the race.
Packet pickup is scheduled: Friday, November 20 (5:00 - 7:00 pm) at the Parks and Recreation office (499 E Maple Street) and Saturday, November 21 (7:45 - 8:45 am) at the Ag Extension Building at City/County Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
