41st Annual Turkey Strut 5K

The Turkey Strut 5K is an annual running event held in Nicholasville, Kentucky, to mark the beginning of Thanksgiving week. The event takes place at City County Park and features a paved course that travels through the park and along the bypass. Participants can choose between an in-person race or a virtual participation option.

The event includes the following categories:

  • 5K Run/Walk
  • 5K Wheelchair Division

The course is supported by water stations located at the midpoint and the finish line. After the race, refreshments such as fruit, bottled water, and granola bars are provided to participants. The event is timed by RaceRise, and free race photography is provided for all entrants. A commemorative long-sleeve t-shirt is included with registration.

Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall. Recognition is also given to the top male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 11 and under to 80 and over.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Jessamine County Food Pantry. In addition to proceeds from the race, the organizers hold a non-perishable food drive in conjunction with the event to support local community needs. Pre-race packet pickup is available at the Coolidge Building on the Friday prior to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
