Turkey Shuffle - Austin
The Turkey Shuffle takes place on November 28, 2026 at Flat Creek Estate in the Texas Hill Country; the specific street location is to be determined. The event is scheduled for the Saturday after Thanksgiving and offers in person and virtual options across multiple distances.
Distances available include:
- Kids Dash: about 50 meters for children 10 and under
- 1 Mile: untimed, includes shirt and medal
- 5K: 3.11 miles, chip timed with age group awards
- 10K: 6.22 miles, chip timed with overall trophies
- Virtual Run: 6.22 miles option
- Volunteer then Run: 5K option limited to first five participants
The event includes a costume contest with a "Biggest Turkey" trophy and a prize pack that contains a certificate for two free future races, a $25 HEB gift card, and a Bigfoot Running Company swag pack. DJ Sasquatch will provide music during the event. All finishers receive a medal and shirt; youth pricing applies for ages 12 and under for the 5K and 10K.
Course surfaces are mixed and include dirt paths and grass; difficult paths will be avoided when possible. Aid stations and on course support will be available. Volunteer roles include course monitor, water station, packet pickup, lead bike, finish line helper, turtle sweeper, and Bigfoot mascot duties, with some volunteer benefits such as a race shirt, souvenir medal, VIP access, or a free future race entry or a $20 gift card.
