Turkey Shuffle 5K/10K - Austin
The Turkey Shuffle takes place on the Saturday following Thanksgiving at the Flat Creek Estate in the Texas Hill Country. This event is part of a race series and features multiple distances on a course consisting of mixed surfaces such as dirt paths and grass.
The event offers the following race categories:
- Kids Dash: A 50-meter sprint for children aged 10 and under.
- 1 Mile Run: A non-timed event for all experience levels.
- 5k Run: A chip-timed race covering 3.11 miles.
- 10k Run: A chip-timed race covering 6.22 miles.
- Virtual Run: A remote option covering 6.22 miles.
Participants in the 5k and 10k races are eligible for overall male and female trophies, master's category pins, and age group awards ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Finishers across all distances receive a medal and a shirt.
A festival atmosphere is maintained throughout the day with music provided by a DJ. The event includes a Thanksgiving-themed costume contest where a "Biggest Turkey" trophy and prize packs are awarded for creative outfits. After crossing the finish line, refreshments and snacks are available at the race rally tent. Aid stations providing water are positioned along the course to assist runners.
