ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot - Event information
The ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot is an annual running and walking event held on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2026. The event offers both live and virtual participation options and marks the 36th running of the Turkey Trot.
Distances offered:
- 5-mile run (timed and untimed opportunities)
- 1-mile walk/run
- Stepping Stone School Kids K with an activity tent and a 1-K held before the 5-mile run
Live participants gather at the Long Center in Austin. Packet pickup in Austin is scheduled from November 20 through November 26; participants may pick up their own packet or collect packets for friends and family. Packet pickup locations include First Texas Honda (location TBD) while the Long Center is listed as closed / N/A for pickup.
The event provides multiple parking options and designated ride-share drop-off locations. Participants are asked not to park in neighborhoods south of the river. A complimentary golf cart shuttle is available from the Lee Barton drop-off near the Loren Hotel to the Long Center.
A raffle for a new Honda Accord 3-year lease or credit up to $20,000 is planned; 100% of raffle ticket sales will be donated to Caritas of Austin and ticket sales are limited to 3,600. One hundred percent of event registration proceeds are donated to Caritas of Austin, the Turkey Trot beneficiary since 1991.
