Turkey Day 5K - Sanford
The Turkey Day 5K is the 17th annual Thanksgiving Day 5 kilometer run held in Sanford, Florida at 600 E 1st Street on 11/26/2026. The event is open to runners, walkers, strollers and baby joggers and is described as family friendly.
The race is chip timed and provides individual times for all registered participants. Results will be posted on an onsite results board and published as live results online. All participants receive a finisher medal. Runners who register by Monday, November 9 will be guaranteed their requested T shirt size; registrations after that date may have limited sizes.
A costume contest is part of the in person event; only registered participants with a race bib may enter. Finalists are selected by judges and the overall costume winner is chosen by participant applause and awarded a $100 Visa gift card.
Awards include overall male and female winners and top three male and female finishers in each age group: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus.
Packet pick up is offered before the event at Front Running Sports on November 23 to November 25 and packets are also available at the event site on race day. The event benefits The Sharing Center and participants are asked to bring non perishable food items and used running shoes for donation.
