Event details
The Turkey Day 5K takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Sanford, Florida, at 600 E 1st Street, 32771. This is the 16th annual running of the event. The race is open to competitive runners, joggers and walkers. All participants receive a finisher medal. The event includes an in-person costume contest open to registered participants with a race bib; finalists are selected before the race and the overall costume winner receives a $100 Visa gift card.
Registration and race features
Registration uses tiered pricing with separate rates for youth (ages 14 and under) and seniors (ages 60 and over). Early, regular and late registration periods are listed with corresponding fees; packet pick up and race day registration have higher fees. All registered runners are chip timed and will receive individual times; results are posted onsite and online. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered by Monday, November 10. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners and to the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.
Logistics and charity
Pre-race packet pick up is available November 24–26 at Front Running Sports in Lake Mary and packets are also available the morning of the event. The walk from designated parking areas to the start line can take up to 10 minutes; signage and personnel guide traffic and parking. The event benefits The Sharing Center and participants are asked to bring non-perishable food and used running shoes to support local needs.
