Turkey Day 5K - Sanford
The 17th Annual Turkey Day 5K takes place in Sanford, Florida on November 26, 2026. The event is a community Thanksgiving morning fun run open to runners, joggers, walkers, strollers, and baby joggers.
The course distance is 5K and the event uses chip timing; individual times will be provided and results will be posted onsite and online. All participants receive a finisher medal. Runners registered by Monday, November 9 will be guaranteed their requested T-shirt size; organizers will attempt to accommodate later registrations but sizes may be limited. Awards are planned for overall male and female winners and for the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
Registration fees are tiered and non-refundable and non-transferrable; fee levels increase as the event approaches, with separate youth and senior pricing tiers listed for earlier dates at reduced rates. Pre-event packet pick up is scheduled at Front Running Sports in Lake Mary on November 23 (10:00–19:00), November 24 (10:00–19:00), and November 25 (10:00–15:00). Race-day packet pick up is available at the event site beginning at 7:00.
The event benefits The Sharing Center. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items for the food pantry and may bring used running shoes for donation. A costume contest is open to registered participants wearing a race bib; finalists are selected before the run and the overall winner receives a $100 Visa gift card.
