Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb New York City

The Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb New York City is an annual athletic event held at One World Observatory within One World Trade Center. Since its inception in 2015, the event has served to honor the memory of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, specifically celebrating the sacrifices of heroes such as FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller and FDNY Captain Billy Burke.

The climb consists of a vertical ascent through the building, covering a total of 104 stories. Participation is limited to 1,250 individuals, and the event is structured around three primary categories:

  • Elite Climber (Ages 18 and older)
  • Adult (Ages 18 and older)
  • Young Adult (Ages 13 to 17)

All participants are required to meet a minimum fundraising goal of $350. Due to the limited capacity and high interest, registration for these categories is often managed via a lottery process. The climb serves as a symbol of resiliency and strength, reflecting the journey made by Stephen Siller, who ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers while carrying 60 pounds of gear.
