Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Jersey Shore, NJ
This event is the 2nd annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Wall Township, New Jersey. It honors the life and death of a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers, and supports first responders and military service members.
The course distance is 5K (3.1 miles) and can be walked or run. Registration categories listed for the event include adult ($25), first responders and military ($20), youth ages 13 to 17 ($10), and child 12 and under ($5). Registration does not count toward individual fundraising goals. Registration closes before the event and there is no same day registration.
Packet pickup is available in advance at 2700 Allaire Road, Wall Township, NJ 07719 on the dates prior to the event: Wednesday October 14, Thursday October 15, Friday October 16, and Saturday October 17, with scheduled pickup hours on each day. There is no packet pickup on the event day.
Participants must display their bib on the front of their outermost garment; runners without a bib will not be allowed to finish. The event will be timed and awards are given with emphasis on participants representing firefighters, police, or military running in gear. A water station is on the route and water is available at the start and finish. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted; firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted. Personal items should be stored securely at the owner’s risk. Emergency medical services and radio communication will be available on site.
