Shark Run 5K and Kids Shark Color Fun Run
The event is the 19th annual Shark Run hosted in Bay Head and sponsored by the Bay Head Home & School Association. The fundraiser supports extracurricular activities, classroom and curriculum enhancements, school grounds, clubs, sports equipment, class trips, and after school programs for all grades.

The 5K entry fee is listed as $35.00 and includes registration, a T-shirt that is not guaranteed for late registrants, and electronic chip timing. The Kids Shark Color Fun Run entry fee is listed as $25.00 and includes a T-shirt that is not guaranteed for late registrants.
Race day operations include packet pick-up and race number collection, a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, runners and walkers being escorted to the starting line by volunteers, an awards announcement, and a separate kids race that begins at the Municipal Building. Runners are escorted from the Bay Head Firehouse at 81 Bridge Avenue to the start at East Avenue and Karge Street.
The 5K course follows East Avenue south, turns right onto Lyman Street, crosses Route 35, continues on Barnegat Lane which becomes Clayton Avenue and then Lake Avenue, turns left onto Bridge Avenue, and finishes in the municipal parking lot. Event staff wear orange shirts or orange vests. Point Pleasant First Aid is located in the Bay Head Fire House parking lot for medical support. The event proceeds in rain or shine.
