Shark Run 5K and Kids Shark Color Fun Run
The 19th Annual Shark Run takes place in Bay Head, New Jersey on October 17, 2026. The event is presented by the Bay Head Home & School Association as a fundraiser to support extracurricular activities, classroom enhancements, curriculum and school grounds, clubs, sports equipment, class trips, and after school programs for all grades.

Registration for both events opens June 16, 2026. The 5K registration closes September 30, 2026 and the kids run registration closes October 15, 2026. Entry fees listed are $35.00 for the 5K and $25.00 for the Kids Shark Color Fun Run. The 5K entry includes a T-shirt not guaranteed for late registrants and electronic chip timing; the kids entry includes a T-shirt not guaranteed for late registrants.
The 5K course departs from the Bay Head area and follows streets through town: runners head south on East Avenue, pass the first mile marker between Strickland and Mathis Streets, continue via Lyman Street and across Route 35, proceed on Barnegat Lane and Clayton Avenue, continue onto Lake Avenue, turn onto Bridge Avenue, and finish in the Municipal Parking lot. Race volunteers escort participants from the Bay Head Firehouse at 81 Bridge Avenue to the starting line at East Avenue and Karge Street. Volunteers wear orange shirts or vests. Point Pleasant First Aid is stationed in the Bay Head Firehouse parking lot for medical needs. The event runs rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
