Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk : Huntington Beach, CA
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk takes place on September 19, 2026 at Main Beach on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, California. The event was created to honor those who died on September 11, 2001 and to support first responders and military personnel who serve in the line of duty.
The event distance is 5K (3.1 miles) and is open to participants who want to run, walk, or otherwise experience the course. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted; those using strollers are asked to start toward the back. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted on course.
Race logistics include packet pick up on the morning of the event and an additional packet pick up the day before at Fleet Feet Costa Mesa. Participants must display their bib on the front of the outermost garment; bibs are used to record time and runners without a bib will not be allowed to finish. Water will be available at the start and finish lines, and an EMS team is being planned for on-site medical coverage.
Awards will be given to the top three men and women, top three boys and girls under 18, and the top three first responders running in turnout gear. Registration categories include Adult, First Responder and Military, Youth (13–17), and Child (12 and under) with different fees by category. Participants may create fundraising pages; the registration fee does not count toward fundraising totals and donations will be accepted for a period after the event.
