About the race
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Huntington Beach takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Main Beach, 21501 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA 92646. This is the first annual local staging of the Tunnel to Towers series to honor first responders and remember the events of September 11, 2001, with proceeds benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The course is a 5K (3.1 miles) and is open to runners and walkers. Registration categories include adult, first responder and military, youth (13 to 17), child (12 and under), and a category for JPMorganChase employees; fees vary by category. Packet pick up is available on the morning of the event and at Fleet Feet Costa Mesa on the Friday before the race. Registrants who want a race shirt should register by August 31, 2026 to guarantee a size.
Participants must display their bib on the front of their outermost garment; those running without a bib will not be allowed to finish. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted with a request that stroller users start toward the back. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are permitted and awards will be given to top finishers by gender and age group plus the top first responders running in turnout gear. Water will be available at the start line and finish line. Organizers plan to have an EMS team on site. Offline donations can be mailed to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306. Donations are accepted for six weeks after the event.
