The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Hernando, Mississippi takes place on October 17, 2026 at 3800 Robertson Gin Road. This inaugural local event honors first responders and supports the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The course distance is 5K and it is offered as a walk or run.
Registration opens March 18, 2026 with fee categories including adult registration, first responders and military, youth (13 to 17 years), and child (12 and under). Fees differ by category. Day of registration is available, though shirts and size availability are not guaranteed for late registrants.
Packet pickup will be onsite at the park on the day of the event; an additional pickup location may be announced. Participants must display their bib on the front of their outermost garment; those without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish. The event will be timed and will include awards, with many awards based on firefighters, police, or military participants running in gear or backpacks.
Amenities include a water station on the route and water at the start and finish. An Emergency Medical Service team will be on site and radio communication will be available on course. Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted. Personal items should be stored securely at the owner’s risk; the foundation is not responsible for loss. Registration fees do not count toward fundraising totals. Donations will be accepted for six weeks after the event. Registration transfers are allowed; refunds are not provided.
