Lucky Dog Pub Run for Wildlife
The Lucky Dog Pub Run for Wildlife is a running event held on St. Patrick's Day. The event format combines a run with a party. Participants run three laps around Silo Square, a route of about three quarters of a mile per lap. Before each lap, participants must drink an entire beverage. Participants aged 21 and over drink green beer, and those under 21 drink Mountain Dew as their "green drink." Participants must show ID at check-in to receive an age-identifying wristband and race bib.
The event supports two organizations: the Mississippi Wildlife Rehabilitation and the Coldwater River Nature Conservancy. Registration includes a t-shirt and a gift card to a local restaurant. A costume contest is part of the event, with prizes for the top three costumes. Registration guarantees a t-shirt if completed by a specific deadline.
The event has two participant categories: one for ages 21 to 98 and another for ages 10 to 20. It takes place at the Lucky Dog Music Hall & Bar on Silo Square Lane in Southaven, Mississippi. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
