Overview
The DeSoto County Annual MLK Jr. Unity Walk/5K is scheduled for Monday, January 19, 2026, in Southaven, Mississippi. The event includes a 5K run and a Unity Walk, both held at Snowden Grove Park. It is organized in collaboration with the City of Southaven and supported by local mayoral offices, the Mayor’s Youth Council, area churches, and community members. The event has been previously sanctioned by USA Track & Field.
Course, registration and beneficiaries
Both the 5K and the Unity Walk use routes at Snowden Grove Park; the Unity Walk follows a different route than the 5K. A 5K course map is provided for the Snowden Grove Park route. Entry fee information listed for the event includes a $35 fee for the 5K and no fee for the Unity Walk. On-site registration is listed for the events on race day.
Proceeds support the Precious Pearls Foundation. Funds are designated to assist students in DeSoto County, help prevent birth defects and infant mortality, provide services to the elderly, and offer support to veterans.
