Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Outer Banks, NC
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Kill Devil Hills is a community event on October 10, 2026 that honors first responders and military service members and raises funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The event is the third annual 5K in the Outer Banks and uses a 5K (3.1 miles) course for running or walking.
Registration opens June 24, 2026 and closes July 1, 2026. Fee categories listed by the organizer include adult registration at $25, first responders and military at $20, youth 13 to 17 at $10, and child 12 and under at $5. Day of registration is permitted at an additional $5 and event shirts are distributed first come, first serve; shirt sizes are not guaranteed. Registration fees do not count toward individual fundraising goals.
Participants must display their bib on the front of the outermost garment; those without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish. The event is untimed and will not present awards. Water will be available along the route and at the start and finish. Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted. An Emergency Medical Service team and radio communication will be available on site.
