Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Metro Detroit, MI
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Metro Detroit is a community event on September 12, 2026, held at 31300 Metro Parkway, Harrison Township, MI. The event honors first responders and remembers September 11, 2001 while raising funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation programs. This is the event's fifth year in Metro Detroit.
The main distance is a 5K run or walk. A 1.2-mile trail option is also available.

In-person registration categories include adult, first responders and military, youth (13 to 17), and child (12 and under); a virtual 5K option is offered. Registration fees vary by category. Early packet pick up is scheduled for September 10 at a local restaurant in Sterling Heights. Race-day registration is available, though late registrants may not receive a T-shirt or guaranteed sizes. Someone else may pick up a participant's packet if they present the participant's receipt.
Course support includes water stations along the route and at the start/finish. Bibs must be displayed on the front of the outermost garment. Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted. Parking is available with a daily Metropark pass fee unless an annual pass is held. Registration fees do not count toward personal fundraising totals; at least 75% of registration fees support foundation programs. Transfers are allowed if completed before September 10. No refunds are provided. Donations and sponsorships are accepted through the event organizer, and fundraising incentives apply if received by November 15, 2026.
