Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk - Lynchburg
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk in Lynchburg is a community event on September 12, 2026, held at 231 Main Street, Lynchburg, TN 37352. The event honors first responders and remembers those lost on September 11, 2001 while raising funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This is the event's fifth year in Lynchburg.
The distance is 5K (approximately 3.1 miles) and participants may run or walk. Packet pick-up is scheduled for the evening before the event at the Gazebo on the Town Square. Day of registration is available, though shirts and sizes may not be guaranteed for late registrants. Someone else may pick up a packet if they present a copy of the registrant's receipt.
Participant categories list fees by registration type: Adult $25, First Responders and Military $20, Youth (13 to 17) $10, Child (12 and under) $5. Registration fees do not count toward individual fundraising goals. Registration may be transferred to another person; refunds are not offered. Donations to teams and individuals are accepted for six weeks after the event.
On course logistics include a water station and water at the start and finish, an Emergency Medical Service team on site with radio communication, required bib display on the front outer garment, and front corral placement for runners predicting paces faster than six minutes per mile. Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted; personal items left in vehicles are stored at the owner’s risk and the Foundation is not responsible for loss.
