Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Boston, MA
This event is a community 5K run and walk in Boston in September 2026 that honors those lost on September 11, 2001 and supports first responders and military personnel. The local event marks the fifth annual Tunnel to Towers 5K and includes a commemorative fifth anniversary challenge coin for participants.
The course distance is 5K (3.1 miles). Packet pickup is available the day before at a local packet center and on the morning of the event at Castle Island. Parking is available at Castle Island. A race bib must be worn on the front outer garment; times are recorded by bib and participants without a bib will not be allowed to finish. Front corral placement is available for runners predicting a pace faster than six minutes per mile.
Water stations will be available at the start and finish. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted; firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted. Awards are given with emphasis on participants who run in gear representative of first responders or military service. Emergency medical services and radio communication will be on site.
Registration categories include adult, first responders and military, youth (13 to 17), child (12 and under), and a virtual employee option. Registration fees do not count toward fundraising goals. Donations are accepted for six weeks after the event, fundraising incentives are offered, registrations may be transferred, and refunds are not provided.
