Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Acadiana, LA
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Lafayette, Louisiana is scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 2913 Johnson Street. The event is a 5K distance (3.1 miles) and participants may run or walk. This is an untimed event.
Registration is available in several categories with published fees: adult registration, first responders and military, youth 13 to 17 years, and child 12 and under. A packet pick up session is scheduled at Moncus Park on November 7 with additional pickup available on race day. Someone may pick up a packet for a participant if they present a copy of the participant’s registration receipt.
The series was created to honor a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. The event supports first responders and military and accepts donations and fundraising. Donations will be accepted for six weeks after the event. Registration fees do not count toward the fundraising goal.
Course provisions and rules include a displayed bib requirement on the front of the outermost garment, a water station along the route and at the finish, and permitted use of strollers and wheelchairs. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are allowed. Bicycles, roller blades, and pets are not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
