Event overview
The Tulsa Area Triathletes Tulsa Tri will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Twin Cove Point at Birch Lake in Barnsdall, Oklahoma (Co Rd 2409 and Lake Access Road). The event is organized by Tulsa Area Triathletes in partnership with RunnersWorld Racing. All races are scheduled for the same day.
Race types and entry details
The event includes individual and relay options:
- Sprint Triathlon (open to ages 13 to 90).
- Olympic Triathlon (open to ages 16 to 90).
- Aquabike Short (Olympic distance) (open to ages 16 to 90).
- Relay Team Sprint and Relay Team Olympic (per-person fees; relay teams typically involve 2-3 people).
- Swim-only options:
- 500 meter
- 1500 meter
Some events list age minimums (for example, swim-only 13+ or 16+ depending on the distance). Entry prices vary by event and by age category. A Safety Swim Wave is available for the Sprint Triathlon; participants may opt in during registration and those in the Safety Swim Wave will be removed from age group awards.
Logistics and policies
Packet pickup is handled at RunnersWorld Tulsa (3920 S Peoria, Tulsa); participants must present photo identification and only the registered racer may pick up their packet. All relay team members must pick up their own packets. Participants living more than 30 miles outside Tulsa may be permitted to pick up on race morning. The event follows USAT wetsuit rules based on water temperature: wetsuits allowed at 78 F or lower; allowed but ineligible for awards or USAT points at 78.1–83.9 F; prohibited at 84 F or higher. There are no refunds for weather, cancellation, or postponement; registrations may be deferred one year if deferred by August 30. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
