Event overview
The Sky Trail Adventure Challenge takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Camp McClintock in Bartlesville, Oklahoma (216 County Rd 2427). The event is organized by the Cherokee Area Council Scouting America. Entry is open to adults aged 18 and over and the listed price for the main event is $75. Registration supports the council's youth programs across six counties in Northeast Oklahoma.
Course and logistics
The race begins with a wall climb and a zipline before the timed portion. Participants will ascend a 24-foot climbing tower, zipline across Sand Creek, and cross a suspension bridge back to the start area. The timed course includes:
- 3.2 miles run around Camp McClintock trails
- 0.75 miles kayaking on the creek (out and back)
- 0.9 miles run around the campground past the Cub Cabin
Kayaks and safety equipment are provided, and certified volunteers and staff will manage climbing and kayak safety. Dogs are not allowed. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event. Campsites are available for Friday night with access to bathrooms and shower houses; participants are asked to follow Leave No Trace principles and to pack out their trash.
Sustainability and awards
The event is promoted as zero-waste-to-landfill, with compostable or recyclable materials provided and a native plant included with entry. Long-sleeved T-shirts are available for purchase, finisher items are brandable on site, and commemorative awards will be given to first-place competitors in each gender category.
