Event overview
The Sky Trail Adventure Challenge takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Camp McClintock in Bartlesville, Oklahoma (216 County Rd 2427, Bartlesville, OK 74003). The event is open to adults aged 18 and over. Entry for the main event is listed at $75. The event name was chosen with input from the Osage Nation and refers to a word meaning sky or upper world.
Course and additional information
The event begins with a wall climb and a zipline before the timed portion starts. Participants will use safety gear to ascend a 24-foot climbing tower, zipline across Sand Creek, and cross a suspension bridge back to the start area. The timed course includes:
- 3.2 miles running on Camp McClintock trails
- 0.75 miles kayaking on the creek (out and back; kayaks provided)
- 0.9 miles running around the campground and by the Cub Cabin
The terrain includes rocky sections, grassy fields, and notable elevation changes typical of the Osage Hills. Safety is managed by certified volunteers and staff with proper equipment. Dogs are not allowed. The event is organized as a zero-waste-to-landfill effort; provided items will be compostable or recyclable. Campsites are available for rent the night before, with access to bathrooms and shower houses, and participants are asked to follow Leave No Trace principles. Entry includes a native plant; long-sleeved T-shirts are available for purchase and brandable finisher items will be offered.
