Event Overview
The Tuesday Night 5k is a 5k race held at Lake Accotink in Springfield, Virginia. Points from this event count towards the Weekday Race Series (as one of eight events) and the Year-Long 5k & Back of the Pack Series.
Course & Format
The course is a flat, paved out-and-back route described as fast and easy. It is chip-timed. The event is open to walkers.
Participant Information
Registration fees are $22 for the 5k, with a $5 price increase on race day. Race-day registration is available. Packet pickup occurs at the event, and participants are advised to arrive one hour before the start. There will be finisher's medals, but no shirts for this event.
On-Course Support
One water station is provided along the course near the mile 1.55 marker, with Gatorade sometimes available. Restrooms are located at the top of the hill near the beach. Results are posted live on Athlinks.com, with a QR code available at the finish, and final results with series points are posted the following Monday.
Series Details
A "Back of the Pack" series is offered for participants averaging a pace slower than 11:00 minutes per mile, allowing runners of similar paces to compete for series points.
