This event is a chip-timed 5k held at Lake Accotink in Springfield, VA. Points from this race count toward the Weekday Race Series (one of eight events in 2026) and toward the Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack series. The Back of the Pack time listed is 11:00; the Back of the Pack is a separate series for participants who average slower than that listed time.
The course is described as a flat, paved out-and-back around Lake Accotink. One water station is located at approximately mile 1.55 and Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are located at the top of the hill near the beach. The organizer provides on-site packet pickup and allows race day registration; the listed registration fee for the 5k is $22 and the price increases by $5 on race day. Walkers are welcome. Shirts will not be provided for this event; participants receive finisher's medals.
Live race results will be posted on Athlinks and a QR code at the event will provide immediate access to results; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Photos taken by staff will be posted to the organizer's Facebook page by the Tuesday after the event. Runner tracking via SMS is available during registration. Volunteers are asked to arrive about 60 minutes before the first race. The organizer states the event is held in all weather; officials may delay, change, or cancel the race if needed.
