About the race
The Pumpkin Pacer 5k & 10k is scheduled for October 10 at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. The event offers two distances and follows a paved route that is mostly flat with one considerable hill. The 5k is an out-and-back course and the 10k consists of two laps.
- 5 km out-and-back on a paved route
- 10 km two laps on the same paved route
Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and also toward the Fall Series. Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual run option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. Packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on-site race registration. Live results will be posted and a QR code will be provided at the race for immediate result access; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event.
There are five water stations on the 10k at approximate mile markers 0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7, and 5.6, and two water stations on the 5k at approximate mile markers 0.6 and 2.5; Gatorade will be available at some stations.
