TSF 5K for Rare Neuroimmune Disorders
The TSF 5K is a community road run held on September 13, 2026 in Weston, Massachusetts at 11 Town House Rd. The event distance is a 5K run (3.1 miles). The race is organized by The Sumaira Foundation (TSF), a global nonprofit focused on rare neuroimmune disorders.
TSF was founded after a diagnosis of neuromyelitis optica (NMO), a rare autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system and can cause vision loss and paralysis. The foundation describes itself as patient-led, patient-powered, science-driven and therapy-agnostic. Its network includes 102 ambassadors made up of patients, caregivers and clinicians representing 35 countries.
Since 2018 TSF has funded $1,000,000 in research, fellowship support and journal publications through grassroots fundraising. The stated aim of this 5K is to raise funds to support two additional research projects in 2025 through the foundation’s SPARK and Unicorn grants.
Registration for the 5K opens July 6, 2026 and closes August 16, 2026. The listed registration fee is $25.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
