Event overview
The Tryon Farm races take place at Tryon Farm, Tryon Road, Michigan City, IN, on October 3, 2026. The event includes multiple distances:
- 2 mile Fun Run/Walk
- 4 mile trail run
- 8 mile trail run
- 25k trail run
- 50k trail run
The event benefits the Tryon Farm Institute. It is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which organizes non-pavement and pavement races in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties. The series states that transgender runners may register as the gender they identify with without documentation. The series also acknowledges the Indigenous nations who stewarded the land.
Course and logistics
The course is a 4-mile loop through Tryon Farm. The 8 mile, 25k, and 50k distances are multiples of that loop (2, 4, and 8 loops respectively). The surface is a mixture of open grassy fields, single-track dirt trails, and very small sections of pavement. There is a main station at the start/finish area and a non-manned water/Gatorade aid point near the 1.5-mile mark. Two port-a-potties are at the main station; there are no bathrooms on the course. Parking is across the street at Head Start of LaPorte County, 811 Royal Rd, Michigan City, IN 46360, with a short walk to the venue. Runners should wear their bib on the front of their shirt. The course is available on Relive and on Strava. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
