Tryon Farm 4 Miler, 8 Miler, 25k, 50k and 2 mile Fun Run/Walk
The event is held at Tryon Farm in Michigan City, Indiana, and benefits the Tryon Farm Institute. The course is a 4-mile loop; multi-distance options use repeated loops: the 8 miler is two loops, the 25k is four loops, and the 50k is eight loops. A separate 2 mile fun run/walk is offered.
Distances:
- 2 mile Fun Run/Walk
- 4 mile loop
- 8 miler (two loops)
- 25k (four loops)
- 50k (eight loops)
The terrain combines open grassy fields, single-track dirt trails, and small sections of pavement used to connect parts of the trail system. The main station is at the start/finish area. A non-manned water and Gatorade station is located near the 1.5 mile mark of the loop. Two portable toilets are provided at the main station; there are no bathrooms on the course. Because there is no parking at the start/finish area, parking is across the street at Head Start of LaPorte County at 811 Royal Road and participants walk to the venue. Runners should wear their bib on the front of their shirt so loop counts can be recorded.
The event is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which organizes non-pavement and mixed-surface races in northwest Indiana. The series states that transgender runners may register as the gender they identify with without documentation. The series also includes a land acknowledgement for the Miami, Shawnee, Illinois Nations, and Lenape. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
