Tryon Farm 4 Miler/8 Miler/25k/50k and 2 mile Fun Run/Walk
This event is held at Tryon Farm in Michigan City and uses a 4-mile loop through the property. Distances offered include multiple loop options so longer races repeat the same loop: the 8 miler is two loops, the 25k is four loops, and the 50k is eight loops. The event benefits the Tryon Farm Institute.
The course surface is a mix of open grassy fields, single-track dirt trails, and very small sections of pavement to reach other parts of the trail system. The main station is located at the start and finish area; a non-manned water and Gatorade aid point sits near the 1.5 mile mark. Two port-a-potties are provided at the main station and there are no bathrooms on the course. Parking is across the street at Head Start of LaPorte County, 811 Royal Rd, with a short walk to the start area. Runners are asked to wear their bib on the front to allow accurate lap counting. The course is available on mapping platforms such as Relive and Strava.
The event is presented by the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes non-pavement and pavement races in northwest Indiana. The series states an open policy on participation regardless of gender identity and includes an acknowledgement of the Miami, Shawnee, Illinois and Lenape peoples who stewarded the land.
