Tryon Farm 4 Miler/8 Miler/25k/50k and 2 mile Fun Run/Walk
This trail event takes place at Tryon Farm in Michigan City, IN on October 3, 2026. The course is built from a 4-mile loop through Tryon Farm. Longer distances are achieved by repeating that loop: the 8 miler is two loops, the 25k is four loops, and the 50k is eight loops.
Distances
- 2 mile Fun Run/Walk (non-competitive)
- 4 mile Trail run
- 8 mile Trail run
- 25k Trail run
- 50k Trail run
The surface is a mix of open grassy fields, single track dirt trails, and very small sections of pavement used to connect parts of the trail system. There is no parking at the start and finish; participants park across the street at Head Start of LaPorte County, 811 Royal Rd, and walk to the venue. The main aid station is at the start and finish area. A non-manned water and Gatorade station is located near the 1.5-mile mark. Two port-a-potties are provided at the main station and there are no bathrooms on the course. Runners are asked to wear bibs on the front of their shirts so organizers can count loops.
The event benefits the Tryon Farm Institute and is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes non-pavement and pavement races in the Northwest Indiana region. The series welcomes participation regardless of sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression and allows transgender runners to register as the gender they identify with without documentation. Organizers acknowledge that the races take place on land seized from the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations and recognize other peoples who have stewarded the land.
