26.TRUE Marathon & Half Marathon 2026
The 26.TRUE Marathon & Half Marathon is a running event designed to highlight the diverse neighborhoods of Boston. The course is an open-course route, meaning there are no road closures. Participants run on sidewalks, must obey traffic signals, and yield to vehicles. The event is structured as an inclusive tour of the city rather than a competitive elite race.
The following distances are available:
- Full Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
The route consists of a 13.1 mile loop. Half marathon participants complete the loop once, while full marathon participants complete it twice. The course starts and finishes at Malcolm X Park in Roxbury. It passes through several neighborhoods, including Jamaica Plain, Dorchester, and Mattapan. Notable landmarks along the path include Franklin Park, the Southwest Corridor Park, the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center, Nubian Square, and Harambee Park.
There is no designated cutoff time for participants. Along the route, "Cheer Zones" are stationed approximately every 2-3 miles. These stations are managed by local community organizations and provide water, electrolytes, music, and first aid supplies. Registered runners receive a souvenir bib, a finisher's medal, a finisher's jacket, and a training plan designed by local coaches. The event also includes a post-run celebration with food and music. The start and finish area is accessible via the MBTA Orange Line Jackson Square station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
