The True Grit Trail Marathon is a trail marathon on Saturday 16 May 2026 at Bridgend Miniature Railway Centre, Fountain Road, Aberkenfig, Tondu, Bridgend CF32 0EH, GB. It is organised by Mad Running Junkies. The event distance is 26.2 miles. Entries open 25 July 2025 and close 15 May 2026. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entry options listed are: entry only (£40.00) and entry with t-shirt (£70.00). Entry is limited to 50 participants.
Course and facilities
The route is mixed-terrain trail with hills, quarry sections, forestry descents and areas described as technical underfoot. The course passes the Bedford ironworks within the 40-acre Bedford Park area and uses nearby footpaths and the Celtic Trail track. The organiser provides a marked course and a GPX file. There are five major checkpoints/feed stations offering water and jelly babies. On-site facilities include car parking, toilet facilities, hot and cold drinks and snacks, medical cover and event volunteers.
