Race #4 Cleland National Park
This trail running event takes place within Cleland National Park in the Adelaide Hills, located less than 30 minutes from the city. The course network utilizes native bushland, woodlands, and forests. Participants traverse seasonal features such as perched swamps, creeks, and waterfalls while passing through traditional lands of the Kaurna people. The area is known for local wildlife sightings including kangaroos and koalas.
The event offers several distance options to suit different participants:
- Long course - 21 km to 24 km
- Medium course - 16 km
- Short course - 10 km
- Kids X-country - 1 km to 1.5 km
The 21 km event is recognized as a UTMB Index race and an ITRA National Challenge event. For the short course, walkers are permitted to participate. All courses are subject to strict cut-off times, and all participants must cross the finish line by 11:30 am.
The event operates as a cup-less race, meaning runners must carry their own drinking containers for use at drink stations, which provide water and lollies. On-site facilities include sponsor tents, fruit, and recovery services. Placegetters in each category receive a medal, and a random prize draw is held for members. Parking is available on-site, though carpooling is encouraged due to space restrictions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
