Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5k
The Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5k takes place on June 13, 2026 at Woodard Family Park in Saint Joseph, Illinois. The event includes a 5k race and a Kids Fun Run held at the park. The day features community activities such as touch a truck, face painting, food trucks, a 50/50 drawing, and raffles.
Proceeds and donations go to the Trooper Corey S. Thompsen Memorial fund to support local charitable projects and scholarships. Packet pick up is available at the Woodard Family Park Pavilion on the day before and on race day.
Registration benefits and race services:
- The 5k includes chip timing, a finisher medal, and a race shirt guaranteed for those who register by June 1.
- The Kids Fun Run is a one lap, marked course of approximately a half mile and includes a finisher medal.
Awards for the 5k are given at the conclusion of the race. Awards include overall male and female, top male and female first responder, and the top three finishers in each age group. Age groups for male and female are 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 plus.
The 5k route passes through residential streets, alongside a pond, over I 74, and through park areas with sports fields and parking lots. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
