Event overview
The Kennekuk Road Runners - Mountain Goat takes place on March 21, 2026 in Oakwood, IL at Kickapoo State Recreation Area (10906 Kickapoo Park Rd). Course, entry and rules
The course is a 5K loop that is 90% asphalt and 10% surfaced handicapped trail. Distances are completed by repeating the loop:
- 5K - 1 out-and-back
- 10K - 2 out-and-back
- 15K - 3 out-and-back
An aid station is located at the bottom of the hill approximately halfway through the out-and-back course. Online entry fees listed are $30 for the 5K, $35 for the 10K, and $40 for the 15K. Race day registration fees listed are $40 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K, and $50 for the 15K. Packet pickup on race day includes bib, ordered swag, and pins. Regulations state no bandits, radios, strollers, or dogs; no shirts or awards will be mailed; and there are no refunds or bib transfers. Raffle tickets are allocated by finishers by distance.
