Event Information
The Lucky Dog 5K offers two main event distances on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Champaign, Illinois. The event takes place at Heritage Park, located at 2101 W Bradley Ave.
Participants can choose from the following options:
- Lucky Dog 5K Run/Walk: This registration includes entry for one dog. All human participants receive a race shirt and a finisher medal.
- Lucky Dog 5K Run/Walk (without dog): A registration option at a reduced fee for those participating without a canine companion. This also includes a race shirt and finisher medal.
- Lucky Dog 1/2 Mile Stroll: This shorter stroll option also includes entry for one dog.
For the registrations that include a dog, participants receive a festive bandana and a pop-up water bowl for their dog. Bringing additional dogs costs $10 each.
The event features awards for Best Dressed Small, Medium, and Large Dog, as well as Best Overall Human & Dog Duo. After the race, a themed Bark Hour offers snacks and drinks for people and their dogs.
Packet pickup is available on Friday and Saturday morning before the event. A dog costume contest is scheduled for the morning before the start of the 5K and stroll. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
