About the race
The Siberian Express is the 44th annual Kennekuk Road Runners trail race, established 1984, held at Kickapoo State Recreation Area in Oakwood, Illinois. The event features a 7.45 miles course that is about 95% trail and travels into wooded sections of the park. The route includes steep climbs and descents, creek and bridge crossings, and opportunities to see wildlife along the way.
There are no aid stations on the course due to the season and conditions; participants should plan to carry their own fluids and supplies. The course has an official time limit; runners who finish after the limit will not receive a finisher award and will continue at their own risk.
Packet pickup is available on race day at the Kickapoo State Park Maintenance Building and includes bibs, shirts, and pins. Pre-registration is available with a listed fee of $40; race day registration is offered onsite for $50 payable by cash or check only and does not include a race shirt or sweatshirt. Race regulations prohibit bandits, radios or headphones, strollers, and dogs. Awards and shirts are not mailed, and refunds or bib transfers are not permitted. Camping at the park is not available at this time of year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
