About the race
The Tromptown Marathon, Half and 5K takes place in DeRuyter, New York, featuring three events: Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K. The half-marathon course has run for 45 years, circling the lake and passing the dam, with views of the valley and village to the east; it traverses parts of three counties. The marathon uses the first 12.1 miles of the half-marathon course, then turns south and east, climbs heartbreak hill, and finishes with a descent and a level final mile through the village.
Both routes are loop courses and certified. T-shirts are optional; proceeds support community endeavors, with awards for finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
